The signature 5th

an over-the-water shot
like no other

The 5th hole at Travis Club defines awe-inspiring golf. With tees ranging from 221 to 114 yards to a green site on a dramatic peninsula jutting out into Lake Travis, your challenge awaits.

We’re giving you four holes to warm up.

One of the most picturesque holes on the golf course, the fifth hole will offer a distinct challenge to golfers along Lake Travis’ shores. From the longest tee perched up above a stunning cove, players must navigate across the cove to a sizable green that is protected by water and two greenside bunkers. A long- to mid-iron will likely be needed to find the putting surface situated on the stunning peninsula. Players will find that any tee shot that finds the green will provide excellent position for a 2-putt par.

  • Hole #1 - Par 4

    Yardages - 360 - 335 - 301 - 272 - 242

The opening hole at Travis Club is a gracious downhill par 4, a gentle handshake that welcomes players to their initial look at the course. From the tee, players must contest the right-side fairway bunker to achieve their best angle for the approach into the green. Tee shots that find the left side of the fairway will require an exacting approach played over the two left greenside bunkers which protect the back-left pin position. Alternatively, golfers can take advantage of the contours right of the green in hopes of running the ball up onto the right-to-left slope of the green’s surface. A friendly and pleasing start to what will be an exhilarating experience.

  • Hole #2 - Par 4

    Yardages - 470 - 455 - 409 - 314 - 275

Hello Lake Travis! The second hole is a lengthy par 4, playing over 100 feet downhill to its stonewall-lined fairway. From the elevated tees, players are introduced to their first glimpse of panoramic views of the Travis Club property with views meandering all the way down to Lake Travis. Bold tee shots taking on the left fairway bunkers will be rewarded with an unobstructed, shorter approach shot into the green. While those who choose to play conservatively away from the left-side fairway bunkers will be challenged by a right greenside bunker with their approach shot.

  • Hole #3 - Par 3

    Yardages - 199 - 181 - 160 - 132 – 112

Travis Club’s initial par three continues the downhill descent towards Lake Travis. Big lake views from the tee may distract the players. So focus is important. Players must consider the elevation change and wind conditions to ensure distance is appropriately judged to find the putting surface perched precariously above a natural rock ledge. Angled from right-to-left, the green offers players multiple avenues to access the putting surface – through the air or along the ground via the undulating and closely mown turf surrounding the green. Choose wisely.

  • Hole #4 - Par 4

    Yardages - 377 - 321 - 289 - 261 – 220

The fourth hole is the first of a three-hole stretch playing along and over lovely Lake Travis. The slightly elevated tee shot plays down and along a dramatic ravine to the player’s left with picturesque views of Lake Travis and toward the site of Travis Club’s future lakeside club. The short fourth will provide ample birdie opportunities for players finding the fairway and may provide an eagle opportunity for those choosing to take a gamble by trying to drive the green.

  • Hole #5 - Par 3

    Yardages - 221 - 195 - 163 - 137 - 114

Don’t be distracted! One of the most dramatic and picturesque holes in the state of Texas, the fifth at Travis Club offers players both remarkable beauty and challenge. Perched high above a stunning cove, players must navigate across the deep blue waters of Lake Travis to a sizable green that is protected by the lake and two greenside bunkers. No matter the club, players must find the putting surface situated on this stunning peninsula. Par is a good score on the fifth. But no matter what your score, there is no missing the splendor of this special hole.

  • Hole #6 - Par 4

    Yardages - 362 - 314 - 269 - 255 - 240

The short sixth hole offers the player two distinct levels of fairway that creates fun and dynamic strategy options from the tee. The lower elevation to the left side of the fairway will be the conservative option for players choosing to avoid the line of bunkers lying in wait. This conservative play results in an angle of approach for an uphill pitch shot over greenside bunkering to the elevated putting surface. Alternatively, golfers taking the more daring route will target the higher elevation to the right side of the fairway and challenge the cross bunkers protecting this line. A successful drive over the bunkers will result in a nice, untroublesome pitch shot to an open and receptive green.

  • Hole #7 - Par 4

    Yardages - 445 - 435 - 402 - 362 - 350

The seventh hole is the first uphill hole players will encounter at Travis Club. The tee shot must climb the hill heading away from the lakeshore to the most generous fairway on the course. Although playing away from the lake, wonderful views of the lake continue for players on this hole. From the tee, players will find that a well-struck shot avoiding the single right fairway bunker is rewarded with an iron shot into a green which is positioned just past a conservation area and protected by two bunkers just behind the green as well as a low collection area in the front.

  • Hole #8 - Par 5

    Yardages - 551 - 531 - 507 - 433 - 333

The first par five players encounter at Travis Club is the eighth hole. Although the tee shot plays dramatically downhill over the natural area to a fairway sloping from right to left, the second and third shots will be uphill. Players feeling confident with their game may opt to challenge the fairway bunkers and conservation area to the left of the hole. The risk may be worth it as the player is rewarded with the most favored angle to approach the second landing area. Whether hitting it high or playing low along the ground, multiple options will be available to player’s approach shots into this putting surface.

  • Hole #9 - Par 4

    Yardages - 449 - 413 - 354 - 313 - 301

Heading away from the clubhouse, the ninth hole is an enjoyable and beautiful mid-length hole playing downhill over our only interior lake on the course. This hole should provide players with prime scoring opportunities to close out the front nine. From the tee, players will want to avoid the left fairway bunker that tightens the expansive fairway just a wee bit. Once finding the fairway, players face a short shot into a green that is friendly and receptive despite the small bunker lurking short and right of the green.

  • Hole #1 - Par 4

    Yardages - 360 - 335 - 301 - 272 - 242

The opening hole at Travis Club is a welcoming downhill par 4 that will offer golfers their first look of the course. From the tee, golfers must contest the right-side fairway bunker to achieve the best angle into the right-to-left green. Tee shots that find the left side of the fairway will require an approach shot to be played over the two left greenside bunkers to access a back-left pin position. Alternatively, golfers will need to avail of the contour right of the green in hopes of running the ball up onto the right-to-left slope of the green surface.

  • Hole #2 - Par 4

    Yardages - 470 - 455 - 409 - 314 - 275

The second hole is a lengthy par 4, measuring 470 yards from the back tee, that plays over 100 feet down to the fairway. From the tee elevation, golfers are introduced to their first glimpse of panoramic views of the property down to Lake Travis. Tee shots that take on the left fairway bunkers will be rewarded with an unobstructed approach shot into the green, while those who choose to play away from the left side fairway bunkers will be challenged by the right greenside bunker with their approach shot.

  • Hole #3 - Par 3

    Yardages - 199 - 181 - 160 - 132 – 112

  • Hole #4 - Par 4

    Yardages - 377 - 321 - 289 - 261 – 220

The par four fourth hole begins with an elevated tee shot playing down and along a dramatic ravine to the left of the hole with picturesque views down to Lake Travis and the lakeside club.  Golfers that opt to challenge the left side of the fairway along the ravine will be rewarded with the shortest distance to the green, while those who choose to play away from the ravine, must navigate the two right fairway bunkers, and front right greenside bunkers.

  • Hole #5 - Par 3

    Yardages - 221 - 195 - 163 - 137 - 114

One of the most picturesque holes on the golf course, the fifth hole will offer a distinct challenge to golfers along Lake Travis’ shores. From the longest tee perched up above a stunning cove, players must navigate across the cove to a sizable green that is protected by water and two greenside bunkers. • Hole #6 - Par 4

    Yardages - 362 - 314 - 269 - 255 - 240

The par 4 sixth hole offers two distinct levels within the fairway that creates a fun and dynamic strategy from the tee. The lower elevation to the left side of the fairway will be the conservative option for golfers choosing to play away from the hazards but will result in an angle of approach that will leave an uphill pitch shot over greenside bunkering found to the left of the elevated putting surface. Alternatively, golfers taking the more daring route will favor the higher elevation to the right side of the fairway by challenging the short, right fairway bunkers. A successful drive over the bunkers will result in a manageable pitch shot to an open and visible green.

  • Hole #7 - Par 4

    Yardages - 445 - 435 - 402 - 362 - 350

The par 4 seventh hole plays uphill, away from the lakeshore to a generous fairway.  From the tee, players will find that a well-struck shot avoiding the single right fairway bunker is rewarded with a mid to short iron into the green. The green is guarded by two bunkers located just behind the green as well as a low collection area in the fairway that protects the front section of the green.

  • Hole #8 - Par 5

    Yardages - 551 - 531 - 507 - 433 - 333

The par 5 eighth hole plays again plays dramatically downhill over the natural area to a fairway sloping from right-to-left. Golfers opting to take the shortest route to the green must contend with the left fairway bunkers but will be rewarded with the best angle to the second landing area which is guarded by a single bunker on the right side of the fairway. Multiple options will be available to approach shots from various distances through the air or along the contoured green surrounds that could project the golf ball onto the putting surface.

  • Hole #9 - Par 4

    Yardages - 449 - 413 - 354 - 313 - 301

The par 4 ninth hole plays 449 yards downhill and over a beautiful lake located to the left of the hole that will provide a prime scoring opportunity to close out the front nine. From the tee, golfers will want to avoid the left fairway bunker that pinches into the expansive fairway. Should players successfully avoid the fairway bunker, they will find the optimal angle of approach into the green guarded by a front right greenside bunker.
